The way things are going, football won't even be a thing eventually.

Come Saturday afternoon, we'll all be piling down to VP to watch two teams of chartered accountants sitting opposite one another and comparing P&L statements.

It just seems utterly ridiculous that again we are actually  showing  a positive balance on transfer  fees while manure again are in the red. Surely they are failing FFP because they are losing every window

Their commercial revenues are huge in comparison.

Sad times. Imagine if they had CL momey as well.

This is another reason its not fair at all.

On the plus side, we'll still have a team of handsome bastards.

Three words that I cannot read without scrunching up my face and flinching. The worst three words in football. So ubiquitous now that it makes me want to punch anyone who says them.

Pure. Bookable. Profit.

Fuck off

The money does have to be paid, and in most cases the payments are spread over several years. But for the point of FFP working out, only 3/4 of the fee will appear at most at any one time and others are then dropping off, but the whole of the sold home-grown is on for the three years. So previously Elanga, McTominay, Greenwood, Henderson and the lower priced but multiple numbers of lower placed players all helped them waste the money the last few years.

But as SCR seems to be the new thing, it doesn't surprise me that all the clubs with the most revenues are spending all the money this year.

Yep, it’s all about revenue. I wonder how long before NSWE realise that only a Spurs style stadium will allow us to compete. Even if we manage to consistently get the 5th champions league spot, we’ll still be outgunned every single year on revenue. Spurs don’t even need CL money, they rake it in.

They do and its a great Stadium ( I've been there for NFL) its also based in London and easy to get to with Public Transport. Matchday revenue without NFL etc is over £100mil but it took 1.2bil to build and Spurs playing at Wembley to get there.

We know that. We have money. Loads of it.

But we had to recoup more in sales of players from our UEFA A-list this summer than we spent on transfers, or we couldn't register any new players to play in Europe.

Now we've (presumably) successfully done that, we're fine moving forward as long as our losses / wages stay within the rules. And if they don't, we can expect to see another summer like this one.

But really, if that happens, we can't blame anyone but ourselves.

As you know i loathe them with everything i am but recently i hear a pretty good analogy on a POD cast that explained it.

Imagine you have a mortgage for £1,000,000 and the payments each month to the bank are £3000.

You are in debt for the next 25 years to the bank for £1,000,000

If you earn £5000 per month then you can easily service the payments.

The Glasiers borrowed from the bank and use their earnings to pay the repayments - each time they fuck up with another "next big thing" on huge wages - they just get a bigger loan to pay it off but the debt to the bank only rises a small amount each time as it is over a long period.

The very very rich rarely use their own money for anything but instead borrow

I predict Roma will send Bailey back come 1st July 2026.
