According to the Birmingham Mail - Emi wont be signing for £17m for Leverkusen (no shock really)

It will be interesting to see what the club decide about his future in the summer?

Was it Farke that had him playing his best at Norwich?

If so, you'd think he'd be nailed on to go to Leeds for £15m or so if they get promoted.

There was talk of Leeds before. I wonder if it'll be a loan.

I reckon we just want to get shot if a reasonable offer comes in.

He's got two years left on his contract, so I imagine if they came in for him the conversation is something like "£15m to buy him now, or a season long loan with an obligation to buy him for £20m if you stay up".

Yep, seems reasonable. Though I'd imagine by that point they wouldn't want him any more.

I'm assuming because they will be relegated because the obligation would probably be binding (apart from serious injury.).

Can see why Buendia went - a hottie flutters their eyelashes, you go running. But he's just one of Leverkusen's bits on the side.

If he wants to play an hour plus of football a week, he has to consider his next move carefully and be realistic that it will be more likely with an also-ran club.

Will Yanited be able to afford him though?

He signed an extension before he was loaned out.  That might affect our ability to get rid of him unless he can get similar terms elsewhere.  I don't think Unai sees him as one of his players.

There were quotes just before he left on loan where Emery was singing his praises.  It might be that he wants outsource his recovery as we couldn’t give him the minutes. More likely you are correct though as we have a loan of tens.

He might be in Unai/Monchi's plans as our back-up '10' if we miss out on European football and have to cut our cloth accordingly.  I would be very surprised if he's part of our squad if we get Europa League or better.
