Aston Villa v Chelsea Match Thread
« on: May 23, 2021, 03:00:59 PM »
With some sadness the season draws to an end. It marks one of the oddest, most difficult, yet in many ways most rewarding chapters of our long history. By August football will likely look like it usually has with grounds packed again. But the past 12+ months has been hard on everyone, aside from the game we love. Hopefully we close this season with an optimistic eye to all things Villa but to everyone personally and professionally. To everyone and your families have a wonderful last game, and a positive path in your lives moving forward.

Unchanged as expected. Davis back on the bench.

Great to see Carney on the bench despite the game tomorrow, sure he can be o.k for 5 minutes at the end.

Liking no Kante for them, at his best it's like an extra player in midfield for them just like Milner used to be for us.

Think we can get ratting and really disrupt the Jorginho-Kovacic combination there.

Playing a 3-5-2 by looks of it, Werner and Pulisic upfront so need to make sure we don't park the back 4 too high up the pitch.

That bench is just bizarre.  One day we will have a bench like that

At least they can only use 3 subs this time, 5 killed us last season as I remember they put on Giroud and Pulisic on the hour mark and both scored within about 5 minutes of that.

It's great to see there isn't a tarp in sight at Villa Park vs the monstrosity that was Totteham last week shoving fans to the upper tiers so they could keep all their sponsorship on display. Showed exactly where their loyalties lay as a club.
