Barkely is running the show in midfield.

Acres of space for him and especially for Cash on the right. We should be 4 or 5 up.

It’s his best game for a very long time. He’s growing in confidence too. I don’t understand the criticism of Doug though. He’s got a complete thankless job. The yellow card was bullshit too.

Richard Keyes and Andy Gray have zero screen presence. I'd swear they've had a few scoops at lunch too. Put them out to pasture already!

Can’t see Ancelotti putting up with this so am expecting a different second half perhaps with Kienan coming on to change the game

Yep he'll change it. They're way too open with Sigurdsson and Iwobi in midfield so think Iwobi will be taken off and they'll put a more defensive minded player in there so try to squeeze the play more.

Dean got to be switched on to that otherwise they'll start to dominate and we'll be mugged like West Ham away.

That's easily our best 45 minutes of 2021 so a big plus generally.

I think Iwobi has been one of their best players.

Sounds like the snake may be on soon for them. They’re worried they are too open.

BBC has Everton with 52% of the play. I am obviously watching a different match.

Villa v Everton fixtures rarely disappoint for entertainment. Theres been some real corkers over the years, hold onto your hats for a rollercoaster second half.

He's one of those all fart and no s*** players for me. Sigurdsson at least pops up with goals every 3-4 games but it's unbalanced with both of them central and we've exploited it very well so far with good passing and runs.

El Ghazi normally does well against Everton.  Hoping for a better second half from him.

I just had a look on the Everton forum at their match thread, they're livid because we're battering them.

They'll win 3-1, too many missed opportunities.

Best half for many a week. Sorry to Allan but Barkley still fairly pants and Traore still does my head in. Ollie needs offered a new contract and soon. Play like that second half with big Davis on and we win.

I think Barkley has been pretty good for him - which is to say he's been ok. The goal was his fault though, he got rolled too easily giving away a free header.  Unlucky to hit the post.  If he'd played like this for the last three months we might have been looking to sign him permanently...

Y'know, if we can get him cut price, I still might be tempted. Think of him as a Jack "multiplier" - they're mates, they push each other to do better things, and the points we get when both are on the field may make up for any shortfall when either one is injured.

El Ghazi normally does well against Everton.  Hoping for a better second half from him.

It might help if he plays further inside, closer to Ollie as he's useless on the wing.
