Excellent.

Seeing the removable goals, I wonder if anyone has ever considered larger than normal goals for goalkeeper training and smaller than normal goals for outfield player training?

The ones on the video all looked very small.

Looks impressive, though like you it looks nothing like it did when last there...

...Which was not that long after Ron Atkinson took over, and you could only watch training with a telescope borrowed from Jodrell Bank.

The last time I went and could mingle with the players and watch pitch-side was some time in the late 80s - a young Keown was being lauded by the management and teammates.  And Gary Shaw, back from the latest injuries, was heart-breakingly showing signs of that liquid grace of  his early career.

They did, yet Ollie continues to find the woodwork on a full sized goal; go figure.

Well as the new area shown is Academy pitches, U12's to U23's,  I suspect that might be why they need different goals and sizes.

It's touched on above but this really shouldn't look anything like the last time people were there because it's not the same site.

If you look on google maps here - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.5746065,-1.7194093,1143m/data=!3m1!1e3 - the site everyone knows is at the bottom, that's still the senior training ground, you can see the buildings that show up in all the training ground photos/videos. At the top of the screen is the new academy facility that opened last year and was worked on by that contractor.

The bottom ground right on Bodymoor Heath Road is having HS2 going through it.

(Going to mess up a favoured cycling route for me as well).

Fascinating; thanks for posting. Looks unrecognisable from the last time I was there, circa 2004, at a time when I was doing some junior scouting for the Club and was invited along to watch an Under 16s game on the synthetic pitch.
