Don't know how many more crap games Barkley has to have before he's dropped, great to see Chukwuemeka on the bench.

Hopefully he comes on.  And if he gets knocked down he gets back up again.

Ha ha brilliant
I need a laugh at the moment

What a dog’s arse of a team.

Look on the bright side, if we get a player sent off the game is abandoned as we're starting with 9 men.

That’s the spirit.

Some people want to get a grip and stop moaning and instead get behind the team ..... afraid its typical Villa fans ...... is someone starting a Deano out campaign if we lose today ...it wouldn't surprise me reading this rubbish

Fear that we are going to be totally dominated in midfield. Really surprised we've gone with the same set up.

Dean seems to be reluctant to adjust to the opposition and to circumstances.

This is going to be a tough afternoon.

Strange decision to buy Sanson and then more or less ignore him .Have been dreading all season any injuries for Grealish ,Cash and Watkins  and we get two at once  ,typical villa luck

Not much in the way of work rate or tackling back in Barkley, Traore or El Ghazi is there. Really surprised Trez isn’t starting.

Don’t get the doom and gloom on here. I get the feeling that Grealish has been carrying that injury  for a couple of games at least, because he’s been ineffective recently - last two especially.
Need the team to step up now - opportunity to see what they can do when the limelight’s not all on one player.
Let’s be honest, we’re safe. Who would have thought we’d be in this position with just over half the season gone. I thought we’d struggle to get anything today WITH Jack. Let’s just support the lads and see how we go.

I’d like to see a midfield with Sanson, McGinn and Luiz. The work rate and energy would be great.

I'm pretty happy with that bench, I like seeing a few youth players involved given the amount of subs we're now allowed.

In an odd way this feels a bit like a free hit, so there's a bit less pressure.

We’ve come a long way in 2 years. Some people need to calm down. They may surprise us.

On the plus side, we may get a glimpse of the next superstar to wear claret & blue.

Some of the comments on here show exactly why DS is head coach and we’re not. Barkley was a huge hit when he first played but now, having returned from injury after 2 months out, he’s the worst player in the history of football and should be no where near the team.

Why don’t we just wait and see what happens.

I have to say that I am disappointed Sanson is not starting. Surely he has been with us for long enough to be fit. The midfield has been very ineffective of late so i can't see how he is not worth a try when you have just shelled out £14m for him. If he cant get in now, why buy him in the first place?

Sounds rather grownup imho, let’s give it a try
