I like Brighton, and rate Potter, but we should be taking 3 points a season from them at least, and given that they took the other half from us at our place that leaves us no alternative if we want to be European challengers.

The first time we played them they beat us.
That was the 1910 Charity Shield and it is the only national trophy they have ever won.

Here's hoping we don't do our "follow up a good win over a big team by losing to somebody shit" thing, like we did last time we played Arsenal and then Brighton.

Another nasty niggly shithouse team.

I dont see that at all. If anything, they're far too nice. They try to play football on the floor, and command plenty of possession. The opposite to fcuking Burnley.

Maupay is the one nasty outlier. Wouldn't surprise me if he bullies his poor, placid manager Mr Potter into starting him every game.

No I'm with Jon, they've got a few other snidey pricks in their team. The lad that went down clutching his face when Trez caught him the neck with a trailing arm for one.

With a week off and hopefully the Covid scare fully behind us, I would begin with the usual starting eleven. Barkley included. Nobody has an excuse now for an under par performance and Brighton certainly command our respect. They are a good footballing side but can be a bit shit upfront.

We owe them one. 0-2 to the Villa.  :)

Jack has scored in most games he's played against Brighton. He'll have that in mind and we'll see a few more shots from him than usual.

Imagine Matty Cash’s reaction if he scores...he’ll do several laps of the pitch he’ll be so excited! Love the guy

I think we can win this. Although Brighton are one of those teams who rarely impress me when I watch them but still manage to grind out results.

Brighton play decent football but have quite a few players injured at the moment, 1-3 Villa.
