It was weird how a lot of the players continually had such a poor first touch when that part of our game had quite emphatically improved this season

Absolutely, was really strange, almost as if they had magnets in their boots of the same polarity as the ball.

First touch is one of things that falls off due to fatigue because you get a bit lazier with it. I think an enforced 2 week break followed by such a heavy run of games has got to the players now but thankfully we get a softer schedule for a while after tomorrow. We've got extra games to fit in but i hope they hold off on them for a few weeks still.

For me, as soon as Deano saw the WH team-sheet, he should have told Jack to roam around up front (something he does anyway) and avoid the LHS wherever possible.

Having telegraphed his approach, Moyes would have had to change things. It's hard to see Lingard doing a defensive job on the other side!
