My brother is a West Ham fan. He always wants us to do well because of me. He was delighted that we got what we needed against them to stay up. I reluctantly had to tell him in the end that, despite everything, I fucking hate West Ham. He's a better person than me!

how I miss the local pub where the WHUFC season ticket holders gather to try to out do each other as to how much more East-end they are than each other and how it aint like it used to be...

even though they all left over 30 years ago or more coz it was too shit/rough/too many foreigners etc etc..

I don’t have much of a problem with Smith naming an unchanged starting line up, but I do wish he’d make fuller and earlier use of his substitutions.

Having said that, I’m still going for a 2-1 win, with the usual backs against the wall for the last ten minutes doing my blood pressure no good at all.

Having watched West Ham a few times this season I honestly don’t think they’re all that. They’re in a false league position and will slowly sink back to a mid table position. We could do too of course but I don’t think we will - we just look a much better team than them and certainly a much more entertaining one.

2-0 to us.

Never forgiven West Ham back in 13 when I had quickest pint of my life at half time to settle my hangover. That was one of many shit days daytripping at the Holte End for me......As for comments on other forums it’s flattering really. They all would sell their nans to see Grealish there.  And I’ve never met a hammers fan who hasn’t used colourful language. But cheating? If teams didn’t try and lawnmower our players down.........

for all their bitchin about the east end and not being invited to Violet Kray's funeral...the ones I know here are generally good people, apart from talking about football.

I like their forum, KUMB, one of few decent ones around with a decent level of football debate but even they have a couple of real knobheads (not Sendo) who lower the general tone . Feel sorry for them right now; soulless stadium, shite owners and David Moyes, you just know the wheels are going to come off, it's a matter of when not if.

This feels a really big game in defining the direction of the rest of our season to me. Despite their position in the table I honestly believe all things being equal we are a better side than them. Win this and the top 6 is on our sights with games in hand on most.
They’ve done well this season in a workman like way, I don’t think it will last and their bubble will burst (excuse the pun). I really hope we  don’t blow it. Manage their corners and free kicks much better than the game at their place.
3-0 (Watkins, McGinn, Barcklay)

I could be just a lifetime of supporting the Villa but I'm starting to feel a bit nervous before matches in a way that I didn't in the first half of the season. The past few matches have seemed a bit laboured - it could be the effects of the covid break but I get the impression we've been worked out a bit. Burnley and Soton looked to put more pressure on the Martinez-Mings-Konsa triangle to stop us playing comfortably out from the back. It was noticeable that we couldn't do the thing where Mings and Konsa wait in the corners of the box for goalkicks, forcing Martinez to punt longer more often. Moyes is not daft so we'll see if he does something similar.

Being exiled in Essex for the last 25 years this is the big game for me.  For the first 15 years it didn't seem important because the Hammers played pretty football but still got relegated every couple of years whilst we stayed as one of the 7 teams never out of the Premier League.  Lately we seem to fuck up against West Ham though including not being able to beat 10 men for most of the game last year and then gifting them two goals and then being screwed by VAR earlier this season.  It's all a bit strange at the moment with West Ham supporters getting excited about "Champions League places" whilst playing eye bleedingly shit football - whatever happened to the "West Ham way"  lose 5 in a row and they'll all soon remember and be baying for the Porn Barons out.  Now they have JLingz probably making his debut and although he is and has been shit I can just see him smashing in a 35 yarder in the last few minutes.  Come on Villa do it for me and the West Ham and smash these fuckers.  5 - 0 Villa please!

The in-laws are all Sheff Utd fans. They all hate West Ham because of the Tevez thing. They've also got a bit big for their boots after last season. Whilst I don't let on, I secretly hope they keep losing. I would have been happy for them to finish 17th so that next season I could walk to the match again, however, now I don't want them to get enough points to do it.

Back on off-topic, West Ham and their scummy owners and bent deal for their ground can get fucked as far as I'm concerned.

You've probably been moaned at about the goal that never was for the last 6 months. Sympathies. I'm fond of Sheff but by 'eck, when they get their teef into summat...

Have a feeling could inflict a heavy defeat on West Ham this evening. Certainly all these red cards coming about would see West Ham have some one off help our cause.
Anyone else see a 4 or 5 goal win?
Only a matter of time before we rack up a few goals against opposition. Why not West Ham . Or Arsenal Saturday
I really don't see anything like a 4 or 5 goal hammering (no pun intended) West Ham are a well organised team that carries a serious goal threat. If we do win this it will be tight. I'm thinking the Jack & Ross show could be pivotal. They could give a debut to Lingard who is tricky and quick but another imperious performance from Konsa should keep him quiet. Looking forward to this one.

A relatively comfortable 3-1.
