Yeah tough on Rose, I see 8 of the world's top 10 are in the US team, which gives you an idea of the challenge Europe face, at least in John Rahm, we do have the number 1.

I'm glad someone else remembers, every time I bring it up I'm met with blank looks.

An interesting subject, but not much detail in this article

What a repulsive first 10 minutes for the Ryder Cup opening ceremony, totally over egged.

Some disappointing performances first up from Europe but equally the Yanks were playing some sparkling stuff.
Hopefully the boorish behaviour of the crowd will help inspire us.

I predict 5-3 down after today.

Its a very strong American team and its always going to be tough playing away from home. Its made all the more tough when the majority of the European team have been in mediocre to poor form leading into the event.

Putting is always key in a Ryder Cup. However, I cannot recall a day when the disparity of the quality of it between the teams has been as strong as it was today. USA pretty much holed everything whereas the Europeans missed so so many makeable putts. You also have to question the decision to play Rory in the afternoon and not Sergio. Rory was woeful in the morning, whereas Sergio played very well.

At this point I think it could be an extremely embarrassing scoreline for Europe come Sunday evening. They dont have the players in form to turn around the tide against an American team playing so well.

I agree there needs to be an extraordinary turn around today but looking at the foursomes I just can't see anything other than one point from the top match.

I didn't think there was that much between the sides until the greens but that's where yesterday was won by the US. Brilliant putting from the likes of Johnson and Finua.

A word on the Captain, he looked slightly nervous and unsure when interviewed after the first shots yesterday and even at this stage perhaps the wrong choice. Nice man, great golfer, no captain.

Oh to be proven wrong.

Surprised Fleetwood hasn’t got a look in any of the foursomes. Oh well, easy to be captain from the armchair !

The papers are saying Dire Straits, which sums it up perfectly. To have any chance, we need to win 5-3 today, but far more likely to be another 6-2. Only Rahm, Hatton, Fleetwood and Hovland have come out with any credit. The decision to leave Rose out, is even more baffling now.

Great shot from Casey, blind 100 yard wedge shot goes in, Casey and Hatton were 4 down, now just 1 down.
