2nd left is  Lee Jenkins , I think. I pretty sure his first name is Lee if I'm wrong.

The man standing next to Jimmy MacEwan is a man by the name of Arthur Haynes.  Arthur came to work at the place I was working and he told me that he was a former Villa player, made four first team appearances I believe.  Thanks for posting, I've never seen that before.

Am I alone in thinking that George Cummings looks a bit hard?

I don't know if it's an urban myth but my old man was fond of quoting it when talking about George Cummings so here goes:  According to the old man, apparently, Stanley Matthews hated playing against Cummings because the first opportunity he got, Cummings had Matthews shouldered over the railings that surrounded the pitch at Villa Park and supposedly that would be the last anyone saw of Matthews in the game, completely neutralised.  As I say, possibly an urban myth.

Don't think it is a myth. My old man, who knew Cummings, Mush and Frank Moss Jnr in the mid-40s, often told the same story.
