Sad news. My first Villa keeper also. That all green keeper's kit was a touch of continental glamour in B6!

Very sad to hear of the death of Colin Withers .Along with Harry Burrows and Tony Hateley he was my idol  in my early years of watching the Villa  At times it seemed it was Withers against the other team and he use to perform  wonders to keep the score down R I P Colin

My Dad first took me down the Villa in the 1966/67 season, Colin Withers gives me great  memories of a very difficult period for the club, he was an amazing shot stopper who sometimes seemed to be fighting a lone battle to try and eke out an extra point or two for his club, one of my early Villa heroes.
RIP Colin

As a 12/13 year old used to stand at the Witton end and marvel at this green giant who seemed to perform miracles each game.

My favourite Villa keeper, may he rest in peace.

A magnificent athlete, quite unbeatable on his day.

Might have played for England -but eventually his form was undermined, along with a few others, from the strain of having to play for a struggling side.
