'Villa could've scored more'
Arsenal 0-3 Aston Villa

Mark Schwarzer
Former Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Huge result for Aston Villa - totally deserving of the victory. 3-0 it was comfortable, it could've been more I was really impressed with their performance. Ollie Watkins, Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley were all excellent but the whole team were superb.

McManaman and Owen are both saying it could have been 5 or 6-0 and that we battered them. Owen has just said that not only would he be picking Grealish for England but he would be building the team around him.

That was amazing.  In a funny way I almost preferred that to the Liverpool humping.

I'm the same....a lot more controlled tonight. Once we got the second it was over and only a question on how much we would win by. Targett was very good again to be fair. Jack still our best, Watkins and Barkley ran him close. Was so happy to see us play with McGinn next to Luiz. A lot better balanced as a result. Dean Smith tactical masterclass

Martinez 7, Cash 8, Konsa 7, Mings 6, Targett 8, Luiz 7, McGinn 8, Trez 8, Grealish 9, Barkley 8, Watkins 8. AEG 6.

These players have us 3 points off top with a game in hand.
Just imagine where we could have been with Bielsa in charge.

Checks table..... ;D ;D ;D

Exciting times and once again on a Sunday night the Villa are sending me to bed buzzing and on a high when I have to be up at 4.15 am! Truly wonderful night.

I think thats the most in control we have been all season, Sheff Utd was comfortable but against 10, Fulham was comfortable but they got crosses into our box for fun, Liverpool was fucking ridiculous and Leicester was tight.

I agree that the formation was better and I can't fault anyone as they all played well and reached a very high level. It was unrecognisable from the two catastrophic halves against Leeds and Southampton.

I still think the win over Liverpool was better if only because it was Liverpool.

We beat Woolwich Arsenal and Ian Darke and Andy Townsend.
They were condescending, dismissive, disrespectful and disparaging towards us, viewing the game from an Arsenal point of view. Until the second goal when they started gushing about us as if the game had suddenly turned and we hadn't been in it.
Piss poor.

Nice to have a forward who peaks for the big games.

Expecting him to rattle in six past De Gea to end the Man. United VP hoodoo whenever we play them.
