I honestly thoughty that was a better performance than Liverpool as iconic as that result was. Given thew VAR robbery and us messing up two late counter attacks we could've honestly scored 5 or 6 tonight.

This isn't a vintage Arsenal team but they did beat Man. United last week and have one of the best close range strikers in the league yet we limited them to hardly anything and had the air of top 6 team.

Brilliant effort from all to right the wrongs of last two results.

The clean sheet is the most pleasing thing for me

Yep, I think they only had two shots on target.  Much better than the last two games.

It's all over. A thorough deserved victory from Aston Villa, who were excellent.

This is Arsenal's joint heaviest home defeat in the Premier League.

Can I please make an announcement?  If I start either the pre match or match thread we win.  I did it for Liverpool.  Leave it to me for the next game!

Getting too old for dodgy streams, and not paying stupid PPV prices, very much looking forward to MOTD. Well done lads.

'Villa could've scored more'
Arsenal 0-3 Aston Villa

Mark Schwarzer
Former Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Huge result for Aston Villa - totally deserving of the victory. 3-0 it was comfortable, it could've been more I was really impressed with their performance. Ollie Watkins, Jack Grealish, Ross Barkley were all excellent but the whole team were superb.

I reckon this is the best we’ve looked since 1995/96.

Probably first time since mid 90s aswell you'd look at our team and Arsenal's and think nah I wouldn't have 8-9 of their players compared to ours.

We've already got the better of the two keepers who played tonight.

Stunning performance honestly, the better team from start to finish against what is a very good Arsenal  side based on this season's evidence. A fine response to the last two games, we absolutely fucked them.

Fucking brilliant. Well done to all of the players, that was a great response to the previous two games. Much more disciplined, and it gave us a better platform.

Trez is quickly becoming a Hutton-style cult hero. Absolutely works his little cotton socks off, exemplary attitude.
