The problem with VAR is it really is a goal prevention system. It checks every technical specification to see if a goal should stand. Technically that was offside as Barkley is in the line of sight of the goalie. However, watch his reaction when the ball goes in. He doesn't appeal at all. He can see McGinn and he has no chance with the strike & he knows it. It is a farce and it is ruining the game week after week.

And it's supposed to correct obvious errors. If it takes nearly 5 minutes to make a decision it can't be obvious can it?

The annoying thing is that although the rules say that a goal should be disallowed if a player is offside in the keeper's line of sight, you see them given all the time. But of course, ours is different.
