Matty Targett is struggling to kick the ball today. Not a great thing for a pro footballer to fail to execute.

The thing with VAR is, and this isn’t just Villa, they look like they’ve underpinned the system with the aim of disallowing goals rather than looking to validate the original decision. That’s why you get decisions like today’s or the Leeds disallowed goal yesterday.

But they can't review a goal, look at it with all their gizmos and whatnot, judge it offside, and then go 'fuck it, let's just give it, but make a note of what we did in case we have to do it next week'. Only way to stop it is to take my preferred option and bin it all off.

Every time Martínez has the ball he is looking to throw. Yet nobody is moving to accept it.

It's as if the goalkeeping coach never talks to the defensive coach!
