One for the stattos out there - if that's the first time in 90 years that we've won our opening 4, when did we last win 5? And what is our record amount of consecutive wins at the start of a season?
We haven't won the first 5 games.  The record's 4 wins on the trot, although we've done that a few times now

- 2020/21
- 1930/31
- 1900/01
- 1897/98
- 1891/92

Worryingly, I don't think we won the title in any of those seasons

The main thing I took from last night's game was how many options the player on the ball had. Everybody was showing for the ball and wanted the ball. That wasn't necessarily the case last season. The players confidence is sky high. I was wondering last night if we were in for the same kind of ride we had from 1987-1990. Promotion, survival, European qualification.

Sure it's been mentioned, but we seem much fitter this season. Last year we struggled at the end of games and this year we have finished every game on top.

Already over a 3rd of our way to last season's points total.

Yes no honours in any of those previous seasons which I agree is a concern. If we win 5 maybe we break the hoodoo.

One of the things that Smith and his coaching team seemed to be able to do at will while at Brentford (particularly against us) was make little tactical switches that turned the game.
Last night, around the half hour mark, it was really noticeable that both Cash and Targett were pushed twenty yards up the pitch, past the halfway line, with Luiz dropping back in almost as a 3-4-3. It pushed Leicester's press back and seemed to mark the first period in the game where we had time to turn the screw.
Even though we switched back, that ball out from Mings to Targett in the 90th minute that ultimately set up the goal seemed to be part of a tactical plan. Just like we had against Liverpool's high line in the last game.
Really think that having Shakespeare in alongside O'Kelly is the key. Long may it continue.

Agree with that. The influence of Shakespeare into the coaching staff is having a positive impact.

Slightly off at a tangent. Saw recently that Klopp's nett spend over the time he has been there was about £100m, which I thought was pretty good for the team he has assembled.

The wage bill must be horrendous though.

As is how much they pay agents.  Sure its miles more than anybody else.

The clubs must look at that and think ' what are we doing?'  that could sort the pyramid out in one go !

Especially given how many players we signed last season.

Love how Wolves paid nearly £9m to agents.  Or agent.

Doesn't look too dissimilar to the league table last season. Just one or two abnormalities where teams seem to be fairing better or worse.
