Castagne looks like another In a long line of pit bulls briefed just to stop Jack, only issue is you can’t.

I don’t get tired of the reaction when they continually foul him and look surprised when the ref blows up, he’s just better than you.

Murphy is the most lugubrious pundit wanker ever.
I had to look that up but I do agree with you. It's baffling why the bbc want to pay him his fat salary just to sit there looking and sounding like such a miserable twat.

Funny: they showed 4 or 5 Leicester chances to Villa's 2, before the goal.
Tbf, they showed everything you could call a save and every serious attempt. I can't think of anything they particularly missed. It was commented on in the game that Schmeichel wouldn't need to wash his kit.

I don't recall them showing Jack's sublime reverse pass on motd but I was half asleep.

Leicester played so deep at times I thought they had 3 keepers.

Let’s get used to the media not liking us do well.

Why on earth would the media give a fuck whether we do well or not?

Could be that we're all just a bit touchy when it comes to our club. I know I am.

Good grief, that’s a lot of anger for so early in the morning?

Isn’t it obvious, we are upsetting the media darlings by daring to infiltrate the top table at the moment. Hence the negative Murphy comments et al - Take a chill pill.

After ten years of unrelenting despair (in the top flight at least), it's just brilliant to sit at the top of the pile. This does remind me a bit of 1995-6, we narrowly avoided relegation in 1994-5, made a smattering of solid signings and reaped the benefits as they added quality and players signed the season before adapted. Let's hope we keep it up.

We can play a lot better than we did yesterday yet were rarely threatened by one of the best sides in the league. The team started a little sloppily, giving up possession in our own half too easily but I was impressed by the desire of the whole team to atone to for those errors. From about 30 minutes on, I thought we were the better team and played with a lot of control, we were just lacking the final ball until SJM's arse combined with Roscoe's right foot.

Who knows how far this momentum can take us, there will be challenges to come. That is very much our best first XI and aside from a couple of positions, any replacements will be a significant downgrade so injuries, when they happen, will test us. That said, the replacements will be coming into a confident side and can feed off the huge improvements made by the likes of Konsa and Trez.

Secondly, the one last significant question mark about Smith's team is that they can be a bit streaky. If - and it is of course a big if - we ever lose again, we need to make sure that 1 defeat doesn't become 3, 4 or 5. This team has all the right attributes to stop that happening though.

What a start, I'm watching MOTD every week for the first time in yonks!

Not the best game, but as others have, it's the type of game we'd have got nothing from last season.  The fact we can play a game like and win, is just a brilliant example of how far we've come in such a short time.

Any stattos out there know the most points any team has ever been clear of the relegation places and STILL gone down? It's ridiculously early but it feels like 11 points and 18 goal difference is already enough to stop worrying about where we'll be come May!

We really are becoming a decent team. Bit scrappy first half and some wayward passes out of defense, but we stuck to it and one of our assets, alongside the flair, is hard work and organisation. Second half everyone played well - special mention to SJM who was outstanding.

I work in the media. I can confirm that nobody cares about us one way or the other. If we do well, it's a welcome change. If we do badly, it's mildly amusing. There is no agenda.

What was great was the manner of victory - yes the 7-2 over Liverpool was impressive, but grounding out ugly 1-0 wins especially away from home is a sign that this team can win ugly, which is a massive compliment. Every successful team, even Liverpool last season, had off days and yet took home 3 points - the result yesterday, for me, was of greater significance thane the Liverpool victory.

I'm extremely concerned. It could easily be the difference between fourth and fifth place.

I'm not even looking at that end of the table at the moment. And it's a lovely feeling.
