The standard of debate on here has got noticeably worse in recent times. It's not even down political lines as there are people of all persuasions guilty of trolling, and at times there is a tendency for posters to gang up on others.

We appreciate that things have been difficult for everyone over the last few months and that some of the targets might not help themselves but it's not a good look and if things don't change a more hands-on approach to moderating will have to be considered, which will be applied without favour.

We don't want to have to do that as generally speaking we prefer a light-touch approach, so can we ask you all (and this means all) to consider your posting style in future
