Pretty well regarded I think.

Maybe one of the others is off?

Wonder if Terry has a management job?

EXACTLY what Smith needs.
There is no doubt he developed last season, and the lockdown proved that, but he desperately needed some real quality and experience with him.
He now has that.

I’d much rather we keep smith with a top quality assistant, than replace him with someone like Dyche for instance.

A great appointment.

I think this is good news.  Terry will move on at some point, possibly sooner rather than later so it is good for Smith to get his man whilst he's available.

Express & Star reporter on Twitter is suggesting that John Terry is staying at Villa - though that has to be the line until an offer emerges that he accepts (if he is looking to be a Manager).

I would have thought another season of working with a group that we hope/expect to see progress would be useful for him. Though he will doubtless be looking at the progress of Lampard and Gerrard and might think he doesn't want to get left behind.

Welcome Craig. Looks to be a good appointment. UTV.

Really shrewd appointment.

Have a feeling JT will be taking a managers job sooner rather than later.

He's lasted a year in his previous coaching jobs with his last being Watford. He's a Brummie.

Was only discussing Shakespeare with some other Villans yesterday, the consensus was that it would be a good move to bring him on board.

We're building up our coaching and scouting/recruitment teams - just need to get some players in now (and ship a few out too).

Wrote on the Rob Mackenzie thread, how we seem to be getting our act together after over a decade of stagnation and slide.Another example of how decisive the club is becoming and making good quality appointments.
