On staying up or going down...
« on: July 10, 2020, 10:16:55 PM »
I got a nice bottle of Dow's Midnight Port for Father's Day. I am saving it until the day where we are either relegated (currently to accept it) or actually stay up (currently as a sigh of relief). Anyone else got plans for either eventuality?

Whatever happens, at the end of the month I've got my first post-lockdown hair appointment to look forward to.

Bring it on!

Do I open that bottle of port this evening or wait until we are gone mathematically?

I think we will contrive to be mathematically alive until the Arsenal game, then lose heavily. Those ****** seem to go out of their way to piss me off so them relegating us would seem apt.

It'll be like death from a thousand cuts Leeg, but open it when it's official, just ion case by some miracle we survive and you need it to celebrate rather than commiserate?

Start on it tonight and then nip out tomorrow and buy another bottle :)
I intend to finish off my Metaxa 12 Star - on top of relegation I've also had three holidays cancelled due to Covid 19 :(
2020 is proving a bit of a nightmare

Open it tonight. On a positive note, both me and Mr L have had post lockdown haircuts.

Keep it until we go back up with a decent team and manager post relegation clear-out. Nip out to the offy in the meantime and drown your sorrows that way. I wouldn't waste it on this current shower of shite. Ironically, this shower of shite will be raising glasses celebrating big money new contracts elsewhere very shortly.

I plan on doing the same with a bottle of 12 year old Jameson.
I had resigned myself to going down and have been quite accepting of it.
But after last nights result, I am now worried I have raised my hopes too much, thinking about how happy I will be to stay up, keeping Jack, Luiz, McGinn, buying a big name striker, etc'. and now I'm worried about going down again.
Whatever happens I will enjoy a drink, and be glad to see the back of this season. UTV

A bottle of 15 year old rare/very small batch bourbon that cost €300 at auction. Not all of it, of course, but it'll help either way.

Cheers!

I had a bottle of veuve clicquot I bought for my hotel room for the league cup final. The old dear stapled claret and blue ribbons on it. I've just uncorked it, fuck it!
