So we have extended Drinkwater’s contract yet he can’t make the subs bench. Any ideas?

Not the kids after a champion medal this time then? Below 6 will be a victory as they will be up for this. Comparing our fielded side to our benched players is irrelevant. Who would we honestly bring on to make much of a difference. Annoyingly we won’t get anything out of this game other than another humiliation if Liverpool turn up.

El Ghazi and Trezeguet both started in the home match.

Trezeguet scored.

Grealish was out.

We bloody nearly beat them.

Admittedly defence looked a lot different

That was probably our most committed performance of the season in many ways but a lot has happened since then...

Rules have changed I think, clubs receive 40 medals and can give them out as they see fit, only rule is every player with 5 league appearances has to receive one.

You're on form this afternoon, Risso.

Somebody in a Villa top has to be.

Souness called it right: JG gets fouled so much because he is not seeing the bigger the picture and holding onto the ball too much.
That's a very succinct description of JG's recent ineffectiveness.

We're gonna get battered.  Keep it under three and we stay above Bournemouth.

Souness really is a Liverpool ******.

Sourness has got a point about Grealish holding onto the ball too long but the problem is that everyone else around him is nowhere near his level. And this is where the question about recruitment comes in.

The bigger picture is there's no one worth passing to.

As opposed to other players not wanting the ball because they are under-confident or just crap.  Absolute nonsense.  Perhaps it also because we can get the ball in the box and hope for the centre halves to win a ball every once in a blue moon.
