Crikey 8-1!

That's awful whichever way you look at it. Is Delaney still the coach?

I won't be holding out much hope for this crop judging on that performance.

8-1. Pitiful. Feel sorry for Delaney. Well done, Smith.

Hopefully 4 or 5 of them get loans before the window closes. Sunderland put their first team out for match practice so there was clearly an inbalance but looks like a few of them got stage fright so only way to solve that is give them loan and see if they sink or swim from playing in league 1 or 2.

A lot of them are from the U18 squad so they're probably a year too early for loaning out. That was a very young Villa team against a pretty strong Sunderland team and the heads clearly went down.

Time to pair up the old and new dream team of Messi and Mungo Bridge.

I'm surprised there was no Barry involved?

Did he not take the penalty?

Surely it's no different to Liverpool in the League Cup - a youth team against first-teamers.
