Prize for first idiotic comment of the day goes to Martin Keown on Radio 4. "It will help Villa having no crowd there..because the fans can easily turn". He backs this up with reference to his experience as a naive young defender in the abysmal team that finished bottom under Billy McNeil in 1987. That's right ....33 years ago.

No doubt we'll also get "pundits" reminding us how much money Villa have spent without any mention of the fact that we had to add to a much depleted squad.

Interesting to hear jack say that playing in front of an empty stadium is no different to playing in u23 games.

A rather unnerving statistic I heard on Radio 5 this morning was that out of the 50 odd Bundesliga games do far, there have been only 12 home wins.

Only Southampton, West Ham and Norwich have worse home records than us so far this season. Watford and Bournemouth have the same (barring goal difference). So all-in-all we shouldn't lose out much to them.
