Season 2020-2021 Ticketing Arrangements
« on: June 02, 2020, 01:57:01 PM »
What do we think the situation will be when season 2020-21 eventually starts at Villa Park ?

Will it be completely behind closed doors until full capacity can be used or will there be a gradually increasing number of spectators present.

I can't see that full capacity would be safe at any point next season.

I'm hoping that there's some kind of 2020-21 opt-out for Season Ticket holders. ie don't attend next season but with a guarantee of getting your seat back in 2021-22.

I have a nasty feeling that what we’ll be offered is a season ticket to watch each Villa game on tv until it’s “safe” to use the whole of the ground. If that happens I’m out of it.

I suspect they'll allow limited capacity when they are able to. How they'll handle who can go I don't know but I imagine it will be linked to existing season ticket holders. By ballot or by allocating a certain number of games perhaps. Either way I don't think I'll be able to go next season as a non season ticket holder.

Does anyone know what is happening about Season Tickets for the rapidly-approadching season?

Or any credible rumours..

I had to speak to the ticket office in the week and I asked this question. The answer is nobody has the first clue!

Per an email exchange with Villa, it looks like an option for ST holders to opt out of 2020/21 and be guaranteed their seat back for 2021/22 is being considered

If 2k are allowed in Villa Park sooner rather than later, how will that play out. Just what kind of atmosphere can 2k, spread thinly around a 40k stadium, create? 2k Villa away supporters create a great atmosphere when squeezed into a single small stand or corner of a stand. But spread around Villa Park, which can be a library at times normally, will be very strange

I think I read they would close all stands except the lower Holte.

To answer my own question from the original post.....

I have exchanged emails with the TO. ST holders can opt out of whatever ballot/allocation system might happen for the rest of 2020/21 without affecting them having their regular seat back for 2021/22.

Therefore, this is what I've done.

only opening the bottom half of one stand is defeating the point of social distancing.

This sounds as though 2,000 will be Lower Holte and 4,0000 will be Lower Trinity as well.

Quote
The capacity achieved under the Safety Certificate is greater than the 2,000 / 4,000 published by the Government. If we are in Tier 2, we do not intend to use all the stadium, and will use the Lower Tier of the Holte only.  Wheelchair facilities will be available in the Trinity Road Stand and we anticipate between 16 and 20 wheelchair spaces will be available each match.  Additional parking measures will be in place for wheelchair users to enable easy access.

Rules are 2000 maximum in the ground, covid compliant seated, in tier 2 areas and 4000 in tier 1 areas. I can see Birmingham moving to tier 2 from 16 December so 2000 could be in the ground for the  Burnley and Boxing day match  v Palace.

So are season ticket holders from 19/20 automatically opted in to any potential ballot for tickets this season unless they have opted out?  I would also assume any ballot would only involve fans from tier 1/2 areas?

A mate of mine went Everton v Man Utd in mid week. Had to be in there 90 mins before kick off and it took forever before they let everyone out in single file afterwards.
