Mark Pembridge volley for Luton 1991. If memory serves it was like McGinn"s vs Sheffield Wed last season.
Scholes’ volley for me. I remember that was the first time I thought he was a good player. Not because of the goal, more so, I then understood what his position was; he just sat in the centre circle and orchestrated the whole match (Pirlo-esque). It’s funny how you need to see some players live to ‘get it’.
Cruyff isn’t the only player to have been applauded by us when being subbed. Without thinking too much I can recall Thierry Henry, Gianfranco Zola and Frank Lampard having that acclaim. Along with various ex Villa players returning.
Another Arsenal one was Pires's chip.Matt Jansen also scored a scorcher, possibly a cup game? He was a great prospect but was severely injured in a motorbike crash.
