This is likely to be another horror show.

I'd go with

--------------Nyland
Elmo, Konsa, Engels, Mings, Targett
-------Grealish, Nakamba, Hourihane
-----------Davis, Samatta

And I'd have no confidence in the above getting a result .....

I think 3-5-2 might be the formation that suits us the most at the moment, but there are still some major holes in the side even with that formation.  Like you, I would like to see Davis and Samatta start together up top with Grealish playing in behind them.

This is our best most proactive starting XI by putting our best team on the park and we just must try and win the game. That means Conor for his dead ball delivery and 2 up top with Jack playing further forward. Time to take some risks but be more proactive.  No time of Luiz, AEG or Trez in this one.

              Nyland

Elmo    Engels    Mings    Targett

              Nakamba
 SJM                     Hourihane
               Super Jack

         Samatta  Davis

Like this line up OZvilla but Smith would never start with two up front.
It looks like if the match goes ahead it will be behind closed doors.
That's another reason we won't get anything from it as the only good thing about Villa at the moment is our fans.

Why are people picking Hourihane?

Well personally it's because I think we've looked a better side this season when he's played and he certainly gives us more of a threat from set pieces. He obviously has draw backs to his game but I think we need to be braver, especially at home. It's imperative we get out of the relegation spots asap with whats going on so that means jagging a win from somewhere.

The alternative is to play one of Luiz, AEG, Trez Elmo or 3 at the back and none of those have been working for us.   4-4-2.  It wont happen obviously.

Was hoping corona meant an empty stadium and I wouldn’t have to go!! Could be bad this, hope not. Hope by some miracle he plays Davies around Samatta and uses 5 at the back as it was meant to be used with wing backs. Think Guilbert has decent season but last few weeks rabbit in the headlights so would take him out. He won’t risk McGinn from the start. I’d probably go with

Nyland
Mings
Engels
Konsa

Elmo
Nakamba
Luiz
Grealish
Targett

Davies
Samatta

But he’ll never go with this.

A walk on the park for Chelsea.

At least there probably won’t be a crowd there to get on the players’ backs.

                      Nyland

Guilbert Engels Mings Targett

                   Nakamba

Elmo  Grealish Hourihane El Ghazi

                    Samatta

Or something.

Specific matches which are deemed at potential risk like Man City Arsenal the other night will be postponed .
At this moment Villa and Chelsea are clear to play

The plan is that the current season will not be postponed and instead matches in the Premier League and lower divisions will be moved behind closed doors.
When this begins, yes who knows, initial announcement is expected near future.

Didn't we have to play a european game in 70s or 80s in an empty VP or am I imagining that?

Yes we were punished for trouble at the semi final against Anderlecht by having to play a game the following season behind closed doors. Think it was against Besiktas, or maybe a Moscow team.
