Was Grealish 100% fit? Or has he ultimately reached his peak for the season and now in slump?
Doesn't deserve any England call up on that showing tonight or the cup final. Not cutting it against the top teams. But that's in part due to his weaklings of team mates
However would expect him to assert himself far more in matches if he's now matured into an international player.
And I don't think he'll move to Leicester no matter how many BFF are there the way the Leicester fans were goading him what's the score shows how much they wish they had him.
He was nowhere near champions league level
Complete bollocks

Yes, Jack gave up tonight. You can't really blame him. We should get £150m for Jack, SJM and Tyrone. Will they spend it wisely?
It'll be more excuses: 'we lost our three best players over the summer, it was always going to be a transitional season.'

This myth of £150 for them - they'll all have relegation clauses making them affordable and Mings and McGinn are not worth more than £50m combined.

If he did give, it certainly looked like it, but who knows, I think you can blame him. Why give up, win the game in hand and we’re out the bottom 3. Don’t get me wrong I think we’re probably gone, but why excuse a highly paid professional who loves the club, if you think he gave up. We can talk all day about how he’s carried us this season but there’s still just under a third of the season left, so why is it ok for our best to give up, if that’s what he’s done??

He should have gone a couple of months ago probably too late now, a terrible first half display and he keeps the same set up until the sixtieth minute, Leicester are winning the game and they bring Vardy on before any Villa change. I still believe these players are good enough to keep us up but not under this manager he is making decent players look like amateurs.
Well if the players are good enough to keep us up then it's not too late.  Changing the manager now is our last chance.

I don't think the players are good enough.
Sorry, that was a reply to one of Leeg's posts which has now disappeared.  Dunno what happened there.

No worries.

Luiz is the talisman of our ineptness for me. There's clearly a player there - and you know he'll go on to have a great career - but he allows himself to be dragged down by the mediocrity around him to the point that it's hardly worth having him on the pitch.

I just can't see where he fits in to a modern midfield system though SE.  He's not a holding midfielder and he's not an attacking midfielder, he just ends up floating around having next to no impact on the game.

Like a number of others, he's clearly not up for the fight we are facing and needs to taken out of the side.

Jack has been carrying us for too many games, always targeted by tag team fouling and now looks injured or disillusioned with all around him ( or both)
Don’t blame him for a couple of poor games...

As Bad English said in his post.  Tonight we lost Jack.  That is hard to swallow.  Probably one of the best players in the world, one of ours truly and we will never see him at his pomp in our shirt.

Even Messi couldn’t lift Argentina.
Smith lost Jack
I know.  It’s totally shit.   Another team is going to hero worship him.  He is Villa through and through.

Purslow and the owners lost Jack by sticking with Smith.

Because he, like the rest of us can see that this manager and this set up is not working.
It’s been pretty apparent for some time now.

Back to the game and that was an utterly shambolic defensive performance. We were a distant 2nd best right across the field all night. None of them, coaching staff our squad are anywhere near equipped to survive this season. Even Jack’s starting to look laboured and there’s no one else.

We look fucked.

Interestingly, despite Leicester being in third place, the graphic Sky put up showed that Grealish has more goals, more assists, runs with the ball and is the most fouled.  Much better than Maddison's stats.  He cannot possibly carry this heavy weight week after week.

I may be being over-generous to him, but I think he has too much to do in our ghost midfield and gets overwhelmed. I suspect he's better going forward but who really knows?!

Tonight confirmed what I've been thinking for a few months; we're the worst footballing side in the league. When you struggle with the basics, you know you're in trouble.

Shit recruitment, shit management, shit coaching, shit tactics, shit everything. I'll leave it with this; when was the last time you saw a Villa central midfielder win a 50/50? Spineless c**ts.

Oh and before we sack Smith can we first get rid of Terry? I expect Terry to jump ship before he's told to walk the plank. Who would want to be linked with the worst defence in the league and relegation. Legend in his playing days, utter shit as a defensive coach.

So he was champions league level in the last 2 games for you ?
He looked fit tonight to you ?
Did he asserts himself ?
It's the harsh truth so stop kidding yourself or kindly explain how what I wrote could be bollocks.
I deal with realities .
If Jack played well in either game the team plays well so can't be bollocks.
Oh and elite top level players impact matches consistently.
Thanks

Andy Townshead said, and it must of hurt, " Aston Villa are the worst team in the league and are playing like a team already relegated"
The level of ineptness on show tonight was beyond belief
who coaches this shit ?
We have choices, suddenly turn into a team with belief and desire, carry on as is and sleepwalk down to the championship, bring in a new management team with a short term objective to stay up. No guarantees but we tried.
I guess we are into sleepwalking and looking forward to local derbies  next year.
How fucking annoying

Given our defensive ineptitude and the fact that we now stand alone as the worst team defensively, it must to be truly embarrassing for John Terry.  What the fuck is this zonal marking all about?  Go and attack the fricking ball.
