A colleague's son wants to watch a Premier League match accompanied by his Mom/Dad. He is 10 years old. There is no prior booking history as they are football 'newbies'. Given the ticket uptake this season are there many General Sale ones left when they get issued for each game?

Not usually, no.

edit: there's a window for season ticket holders to buy additional tickets. If you'd like me to try for your friends let me know Lee.

My impression is that that a fair number of tickets have made it onto general sale for all of our home games that happen to have been shown live on tv.

I think a lot of these are ST holders returns.

When the game sells out, they let ST holders sell their seats through the club which is why you see games marked as sold out only for tickets to then appear. That's always worth checking every day. I assume these are straight to general sale?

Palace and Sheffield united will make general sale I'd imagine although it's usually just spares at top of Upper Trinity and will struggle to find two next to each other which is a problem given he's so young.
