Never a pen

CHEatingheating

It was a clear penalty. He never got the ball.
That's how I saw it to be honest.

The question is whether he brought down the attacker, not whether he got the ball. Which I think he probably did.

Plenty of other questionable decisions though.

Aurier told after two cautionable fouls to cut it out, another one straight after which didn't even get a talking to let alone a card.

A clear corner off the defenders heel - not even a difficult one as the ball changed direction, given as a goalkick.

An utterly shit referring display.
Yes we've had a few go against us.  Aurier should be on a yellow and we were denied the clearest corner you'll ever see but I think the pen was fair enough.  Truth be told we should have been 2-0 up and cruising.

nakamba for DD for me

He should have never started. Playing him has left us wide open through the middle, and since we're no better on the wings they're cutting right through us everywhere on the break.

Anyone think we’d have been given it then ?

Fucking defence is pathetic

The same could be said for the Spurs defence. They're lethal going forward but piss poor in defence. A great 45 minutes of football where it quite easily could be 4-3 to us. Gutted to be going in a goal down but if you don't take your chances you can't really complain.

Despite shitting myself pre-match, we've looked as good as we have all season. Samatta deserves a goal or three, doing everything right. He looks a bargain.

He failed to clear the ball for their first goal and was a statue on their second. He is so nervous in possession and has been huffing and puffing since the 10 minute mark.

The Game of Thrones episode The Viper and the Mountain needs to be compulsory viewing at BH.  When you have your opponents down and vulnerable, you need to kill them off.  We didn't, they got a flukey goal to equalise and the rest went as per usual.

Minus marks as well to our defenders for being slow off the mark when Reina saved the pen.  Again, it's naivety.  Most teams get done for encroaching, but our lot are on their heels, smoking fags or daydreaming or something.

Drinkwater is awful, El Ghazi too.

Our defence once again, shambles.

Ghazi put the cross in we scored from and had a blistering shot scrambled away by the keeper

Got to think of the chances at the other end of the pitch also..... we could have easily been 3 up before they scored

Anywhere else on the pitch and the Engels tackle isn't even a foul, but because VAR polarises tackles, they just have to give a penalty.  A clear and obvious foul by Engels?  Not for me. The slightest of touches maybe.  And then we ballwatch as Reina saves it.  Where is the belief! Fricking need some now, that's for sure.
