It's always going to be hard to get a result when Hause, Targett, Drinkwater, and El Ghazi are in your starting lineup. They just aren't good enough. Neither is Nakamba really, but he seems to be doing ok tonight.

AEG is doing ok too. Not his fault the club don't have a senior striker in the squad. The Drinkwater signing, as persistently called out by the majority here, was utter madness and we are paying for it dearly.

Smith playing el ghazi up front again a utter failure the last few tiems but hey ilm do it agajn amd hope it works. Ill play grealish on the left again even though he is better in a no 10 role.

Oh and ill play a completely unfit cm in drinkwater who keeps losing the ball hoping he gets better.

Luiz is perfect for this game but instead he leaves him on bench. Like I say out of his depth at this level

How is it that Engels and Chester can’t get a game but Konsa and Hause can??

Entirely predictable, and that does not bode well for the rest of the season. We're seeing this too often and a striker won't make enough of a difference. It smells bad now, so much so I'm off to the "worried" thread.

Yes we're pinning all hope on 1 signing. There's more wrong than that.

Get Luiz on, play him further up the pitch, bring Vassilev on, at least have someone with a bit of movement about them playing where you'd expect a striker to be playing.

I am so sick of this shit, week after week it's the fucking same.

We never look like winning. Does anyone really think we're getting anything out of this?

It'll be the same XI who come out after the break and we'll waste another 20 minutes doing the same fruitless, doesn't-fucking-work thing.

Yup it’s fucking trash.

Reina and Mings are all we have at the back. Ironically I think "Drinky" is doing ok, as is Nakamba. Jack is different class.

Watford were there for the taking, but of course we screw it up.

There is also an FA rule that says Dean can't sub until after 70 mins. So we have that to look forward to.

Anyone think there will be any changes at half time ?

Maybe Smith will try something completely left-field & stick on the young American to play up front? Second thoughts, that’d never work in a million years... 🙄

I really don’t know why I follow the match thread it’s so fucking depressing. If you lot were at the game would you be so critical and negative? Sure we are up against it but I thought our job was to ‘support’ isn’t it? I may be a dreamer and a misguided optimist, but for God’s sake get behind the club. Come on Villa you can do this!

Our players just don't seem to understand the Premier League. Watford are fighting, niggling, cheating, and scrapping their way to victory. Every single decision by the ref is is being challenged. Deeney would of ran through a brick wall to get on the end of that cross. El- ghazi and Trez are both doing that schoolboy thing of running in behind hoping their player misses the ball which they inevitably don't. Not good enough from the players and obviously lacking in a proper game plan. Not good enough from Dean & co. Massive improvement required but i have no faith in that happening.

Yep I would support but not blindly. Getting behind the club isn’t going to turn the sows ear into a silk purse.
