I think it's now safe to assume Wesley cannot be dropped for league games.

Because we have no viable other options. Don't say Kodjia.

Really? Wesley has hardly set the world on fire and Kodjia when he got his chance did the business. Ok it was against Liverpool's kids but you can only beat what's put in front of you. Wesley has started to work more but for me that's not enough.

4. I don’t think Grealish will be on the left, I think it’ll be Hourihane with Jota on the right and Lansbury/Luiz in the middle. I think Smiths actually been less attacking with this team with an attempt to be less open in the middle.

I imagine this will be the case too. Maybe 4-3-2-1 trying to keep it narrow and make us more solid and harder to play against given that Smith spoke about trying (and failing) to do this against Norwich.

I do wonder if have much to get up the pitch on the ball.
Lack pace
Every time see Jota play there seems to be a decent thru ball or over top and it's a foot face between him and keeper. A faster player would reach first and dink it or take ball round keeper.
He's got to play himself into match as he takes a while to get going.

This team is a safety team but would have liked a pace player in the team one of el Ghazi or Trez.
I fear Delfefou will give all sorts of problems and Deeney will be elbowing his way either to victory or hopefully sent off.
I'm not exactly sure what can do to combat Doucoure and Capoue as they are strong but hopefully a bit of ball for villa and play around them

Hopper the ref needs to protect our players and the inevitable fouls.
And despite the probable anonymous play of Hourihane I hope he delivers in making forward runs and goals.
Intrigued to see how Lansbury and Jota get on and if they can't perform against low team bottom table then who can they perform against

Up the villa

Good he’s dropped AEG and Trez, total wastes of a shirt and looks like he’s flooding midfield to make us hard to break down. Let’s see...

If that game is your criteria Wesley scored against them too !

To counteract the negativity, this team is perfectly capable of getting a result. If we play with positivity, desire, and the sort of attitude we had for much of the second half of last season.
