New Manager bounce will see Watford working a lot harder than us.  I hope I am wrong.  I can't see us winning this, but hope for the best.

This one has Deeney written all over it. They interviewed him after the Sheffield Utd game, and all he kept mentioning throughout was the upcoming game against us.

Bluenosed tosser.

3-0 them.

Mings though

No way would I rush Mings back for this game. Recipe for disaster.

No way should Jota be starting in my opinion. He’s far too slow and weak, and just not up to the job at this level.

don’t care about their new managers bounce or our form
this is exactly the sort of game where we should be going out to win

if we aren’t expecting to get a result today we might as well just accept that relegation is going to happen

As per absolutely loving the positivity within these walls.
Think we’ll pick up a point today.
For gods sake don’t lose.

With their Pearson bounce and our current form it has an air of predictability about it, a bit like Sheffield a couple of weeks ago and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the result was the same 0-2. I just hope we get a break, a Hourihane set piece or something that puts us a goal up and then under extreme pressure that we exploit with a breakaway goal.

A bit of unpredictability from villa today would be a great way to end the year.

To be fair .......Jota is weak and slow and would be completely outrun and outmuscled today by a Pearson team - fight and spirit will be required today
I guess Risso is like most of us- disappointed that a season that started with so much optimism is turning to  shit  because the club is repeating the same mistakes it has making for the past 20 years  - poor recruitment of managers and players

Tough one to call today. We really shouldn't have anything to fear from these and hopefully the win on Boxing Day has boosted our confidence. I'll take another dodgy performance and three points, espcially away from home.

If Dean gets out done by Pearsons tactics today then I’ll start having genuine concerns over our manager. This lot are bottom of the league for a reason but if we let Deeney and Deulofeu run the show today then we’ll be taking nothing from this game. We’ve had 4 piss poor performances on the bounce so we need to be seeing a big improvement from management and players today.

Pray for a win, accept a draw...and don’t think about losing.

How could you forget Nigel Pearson was their new manager. Is your head in the sand? Are you an ostrich? You are an ostrich!  ;)

Referee: Simon Hooper.
VAR: Jonathan Moss.

Simon Hooper 5 premier league matches.
Started season doing championship and may remember him from previous seasons in championship .

This season in 5 matches  16 yellows 1 red card no penalties this season.

7 matches Hooper has done Villa have been awarded 3 penalties.
He's got a thing for pushing and handballs so despite giving no pens so far this season maybe he give us something.

Watch out for Moss on VAR though
