Least their line up looks Championship standard too.

Not happy with that line up but get the 3 points and a decent performance.

Atleast hes moved Grealish back into the middle.
Have you noticed who has been scoring our only goals lately ?

Have you noticed how we have no control over the midfield when hes out wide?
I don’t want him out wide either but I do want him attacking not defending.

Come on Villa. At least for once in my lifetime, don't ruin Boxing Day.

I really don’t get what he’s trying to prove to everyone by constantly picking Wesley. I get it tat he’s our record signing, is still young and needs time etc etc. But you have an experienced forward at the club that could with a run of games provide something entirely different. In the press conference when questioned about him Kodjia had done what was asked by scoring twice and looking mobile and inventive in the game vs Liverpool. Would it kill Dean Smith to try something a little different after 4 defeats? Nope. The answer is stick with Wesley and bring in Elmo. That’s gonna fix it. Fuck me.

4231?

At home as well, this could be the end of him?

                     Heaton
Elmo     Engels      Hause     Targett
         Nakamba   Douglas
Trezeguet      Grealish     El Ghazi
                    Wesley

Two players for every position, maybe, but not the quality, that's for sure.  Just fricking win.

You lose, you leave.  You win, the owners throw more money at you and you get a second chance to build the squad, much needed, but a risk nevertheless.

I hope this is what he has done but El Ghazi and Wes starting is asking for trouble.
Still would not surprise me to see 4 3 3 with Jack in Midfield

I agree TV. It's got to the point where constantly keeping him in the side is having a negative effect on him and the team. I'd like to know what Jota needs to do to get picked ahead of El Ghazi and Trezeguet.

To be fair, I'm. Not sure what lineup he could stick out there that people would find a positive in right now.

There are a bunch of formations that could play from. That team.

4231
433
4213
4411
442
4132
4123

The players could shape to any of those.

I hope it means something a little different and putting elmo in makes us hopefully more solid.

Sincerely hope there is a material change in formation today. Looks a 4231 with a wide open midfield without the ball. Don't agree with persisting with Wesley and if he doesn't start well the crowd won't spare him. Same for AEG.

To be fair looking at the bench, the midfield options are limited. Konsa's pace should enable us to play a higher(ish) line and I can see why Elmo has come back in for his experience alone. But there is an element of change for change sake about those two changes when the real problems are elsewhere.
