I was really split minded about Wesley today.

I think if he hadn’t scored midweek, I’d have started Kodija. But as he scored, it’ll be important to try and keep his confidence up. I reckon he’ll score today too though.

There’s arguments that really we should probably play both of them at the same time. But I think* it’s the right decision.

*i think? Normal disclaimer applies. Just my opinion. Probably a bad one. Time will be the judge. Etc...

FFS we have another limited manager.
Lose this and Dean can ring his own taxi.

I don't see much in their team to worry us but then I don't suppose they see much in ours either.  They're probably delighted Wesley's playing.  Time for him to step it up and make a name for himself.

He's a stubborn so and so is Deano.

Kodjia should be starting this.

Agreed. DS stubborn as fuck, sincerely hope it doesn't come back to bite us.

Yeah, I hope not, mate. We need a win.

A must win, we lose to Southampton or Watford and Norwich, it says one thing, we are in a relegation battle, come on Villa.

No LeTissier or Shearer for them which helps.

Shane Long worries me.

Has about 10 goals in his last 90 appearances including none this season. If Shane Long is worrying us it's all the one.

Very attacking midfield . Did the trick v Newcastle but Southampton will hardly be as naive.

Perhaps Smith isnt stubborn but has a plan and sticks to it which is something we havent done for years.

We don't know the outcome yet of course, but if the plan fails, it's shit management regardless of his integrity or intentions.

His job is to preside over wins, not "have a plan and stick to it".

You'd hope he has several plans.

Unless you have some of the best players in the world, no good football manager sticks to just one style of play for every match because all that happens is the opposition play to nullify and counter it. Which seems to happen at half time if not from the start at the moment.

Even fergie would play with 9 behind the ball if he thought it would win him matches in Europe and hit on the break.
