Absolutely fuming about that.  We're all over them, looking good for a 2-0 lead, then Mings switches off (again) and they equalise, right before half time.

Hopefully our fitness is better now than a few weeks ago. We tend to hit the wall at the hour mark and go flat in these types of games when you think back to Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool.

As bad as Man. United have been they will have a decent spell at some stage so we need to defend much better on the set pieces than for the goal.

Simple half time message for Smith.

This lot you’re playing are utter toss and there for the taking.
Keep giving Jack the ball as it’s a forward pass and momentum gained or foul from a Man U player. The ref will get his cards out eventually.
Tyrone - stop fucking about and give to Jack or hit long to Wesley as he’s holding it up well today.

Blaming Mings for their goal is more than a bit harsh. Sure he conceded the corner but that was another passage of play and the set piece should have been defended better.

he had two chances to boot it. Its down to him. he could have done a better job of marshalling the defence from the corner as well

It really isn't.

That is of course true, but there is no taking away from Mings having an absolute age to clear the ball, then only attempting to do so when it was impossible.

He's an excellent, classy defender but too many times his casualness leads to the most basic of mistakes.

Yes it was obviously Mings’ fault but it’s also Smith presumably telling them not to launch it in that situation. It’s driving me mad. There are numerous examples of them running into trouble trying to play on the edge of their own box and he never stops it. Take Albion away in the second half of the play off semi last season when the overplaying on the edge of the box nearly cost us. It’s a Smith problem

Their goal has been deemed a Heaton OG.

Agree with all of you on Tyrone. He’s becoming a liability. Almost in every game this season, even against Norwich and Newcastle, he has made stupid errors. Too casual and unprofessional. I am not sure if he is not being spoken to because of self made reputation etc but a reality check is needed. We will not get anywhere with this liability in our team.

Bollocks to this 'philosophy' of playing it out from the back.  Judge each situation on its merits.

Masters of our own downfall again after an otherwise very good half.
