any team who has  Marvellous , SJM , JG and Tyrone Mings will not be going down.

Excellent performance and not that suprised.

Well done Villa.

It's going to be a great trip back!

Enjoy! Reminds me of a trip back from Norwich with the Sutton Lions one cold Tuesday night after a 2-0 cup win. We sang 'The Bells Are Ringing' non-stop all the way back to Brum.

I thought we might sneak a win by the odd goal but that was rather better than I could have hoped for.

I was going to watch by stream but was it was already 1-0  and didn't want to jinx it so went head-in-the-sand instead.

Sounds like we had our shooting boots today and could have had 7 or 8.  Well done to Dean and the lads for finally giving someone that thumping.  Poor penalty and needless error (again) aside, the kind of thing that has cost us in the past,  it sounds like a close to perfect performance.

That Luiz goal is sublime.

Thought it was pretty average.. by his standards.

For me, one disappointment was Taylor still on the bench ahead of Kortney Hause. We saw last week how poor Taylor was when he came on for Targett. Pathetic defending for the Rodriguez header.

Good to see us in 14th a point behind manyew and three behind Spuds and Chelsea.

In terms of the season so far, it's interesting to note that the Friend and Moss decisions cost us possibly 2 extra points which, if gained,  would have seen us in 9th, above Palace on points and above Arsenal on goal difference, albeit with an extra game played.

Observation - we've played 6 of the top 10 and 2 of the bottom 9 (taking us out).

With Man City and Liverpool to come after Brighton.

What an absolutely superb match.  El Ghazi probably had his best game, and Big Wes went some way to silencing his critics (including me!) That was the run up of somebody who was nailed on to miss a penalty though.  Marvelous is such a great player, the very definition of the heartbeat of a side.  Winning it back simply but then always looking to set the team off on an attack by playing a probing ball.  Superb. Jack was great today, his most commanding game and capped with a really good goal of his own.

Only downside was the needless fuck up for the goal.

Oh and a mention for Targett, who looks really very good going forward, and was constantly acting as another outlet on the left.  Smith got everything spot on today.

Fantastic result considering Keinan should have started instead of Wes, Grealish shouldn't be captain, Connor shouldn't be in the starting eleven, and the manager is tactically inept in this league  ;).

No more so than playing El Ghazi more inside and closer to Wesley. Both players benefited from the decision.

I love the fact I thought Nakamba was MOM, yet other people think El-Ghazi, Wes, Mings, Grealish. Some big performances out there.

Today was a complete team performance. We’ve threatened bits and pieces of what we saw today at various times this season but never all together. Some of our movement for the goals was really excellent. Players are starting to understand their roles and used to playing with each other at this level. It was really fun to watch. Need to follow this up now vs Brighton but it sure feels great going into the international period on the back of a handing out a kicking
