Almost perfect game for us.  Those who needed goals got them, the whole club gets a boost, and a lot of pressure is taken off.  And three away points too.

I don't begrudge Norwich a goal - they were pretty good coming forward.  Disappointed it had to come from our mistake though.

Looked very good going forward but thought we defended too narrow, particularly on the right.  The midfield players have to get across quicker to stop the overload on the fullbacks.  Nakamba was very effective in the midfield, does the simple things and, most importantly keeps the ball moving all of the time.

Happy travels back to traveling masses. Norwich isn’t the easiest place to get to and back. It will much sweeter tonight.

Just left a message on Delia's answerphone asking how to cook roast Canary.

Somehow I don't think she'll be calling me back.

Looks like someone else enjoyed it...

Was wondering why he chose this game, then remembered they own a council house in Norfolk or something.....

Kate Middleton "supports" Chelsea I think so hopefully we have a convert after today's display!

Hello Premier league Aston Villa have arrived.
Back in the big time baby.
Downside is the international period and the 14 day before Brighton home

Absolute superb today . Lovely goals and was a great game with Norwich contribution in wanting to get goals and being so open , as well as defenders muddling up and giving away ball , saw a well deserved victory.
Credit Wesley for 2 goals (though Davis could have scored them and his penalty was weak af as was his attempt from penalty rebound and the free header straight at gk) as expected him to be up it today though 2nd half he wasn't exactly part of the attacks but was occupying the defence throughout .
As well as the mentions of Marvelous and Mings
I thought Targett was excellent and real thrust and pressed well to allow that goal for Hourihane.
Guilbert offered a lot going forward and el Ghazi could have done whatever he wanted but as defensive combo on that side villa were again very suspect and Norwich could have scored first half from poor defensive work from these two on the right side.

Attacking wise the flair was there and I think many of us expected chances and goals for villa due to how both we and Norwich play.

5-1 was actually a fair result and loved how the boys all celebrated together  that beautiful Douglas Luiz goal
Especially Wesley who had a dance with him !!

A real big shout to Hourihane who scored his first ever premier league goal.
This guy has worked hard to get to the premier league and worked hard to get his place in the team
A real acknowledgement to a great pro.

Grealish too for his first goal this season in the prem!
And Konsa for his first premier league minutes I believe.

Allez Allez Allez

I like Taylor and Elmo, but have to say I'm really happy with the full backs. Nakamba brings exactly what we required in front of defence. Wesley coming on and we look much more balanced playing one of Trezeguet/El Ghazi/Jota and an extra midfielder. Chuffed.

Norwich fans are able to count the number of goals in the game on the fingers of 1 hand.

Yes that foolish and slippy goal in the dying embers keeps up our record of conceding so many late goals
Yet again we concede in the final quarter mins of a match .
And yet again concede in the 80+mins

We had scored five goals beforehand, like. Just a reminder.
