Brighton vs Aston Villa Match Thread - Carabao Cup 3rd Rd
« on: September 25, 2019, 06:52:22 PM »
A number of changes as expected but a strong line up. Like I said in the pre match thread, we need to win tonight to remember what it's like to win again. We've come close too often to either winning or at least getting a point and not come through. That starts to play on the mind. A good performance where we take the game to Brighton and score some goals will mean a lot. Let's get into them tonight from the very start.

One of McGinn or Hourihane could be pushed up?

Expected team bar McGinn. Assume that Lansbury is injured given he is not even on the bench.

Happy with that team, surprised McGinn is starting. I suppose he will be substituted after about an hour as he puts so much effort in.

Looking at twitter it seems like an under 23 team in the main. A lot of their fans not happy.

Brighton have 3 or 4 injured so they are limited to who can play tonight.

That’s a decent team. It will be interesting to see how they play. I hope targett plays well and forces his way in.

I’d have rested SJM personally, too much a key player to risk.

I just saw a clip of the squad walking through a corridor at the ground. They look like a bunch of lads on a school trip. Baseball cap here, hoodie there. I want to see them dressed as a team, marching in with purpose, putting the shits up the Seagulls from the off.
