I fancy going to this but it isn't the easiest game to get to - especially for a night match.
I think I can get the time off work to go - I will find out next week.
The train is out unless you stay over - same with National Express.
It doesn't loo like my local Black Country coach is running for this one either.
I have never been on the official coaches - does anybody know what time they will leave? And then I still have to get back from Villa park in the small hours.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Official Bus leaves at 1.15 as they are betting traffic will be bad on the way down due to hitting the M25. Should be better on the way back but I would say if we leave at 10ish we will get back to Villa Park for 2 am or so.

Last time was a Friday night game from memory and it was a horror show after as if you drive down as I did you park near the city center and get the train over as included in the ticket but no trains arrived last time (or very few) so were stuck at the stadium for an age and so made it a really long night.... I'm going on the bus this time.......

Anybody driving down, it’s worth going to Lewes and parking in the station car park. There’s several pubs in the vicinity and several food outlets. 7 mins on the train to Falmer stn. Easy get away after, too.

Just to add re Lewes, if you are travelling by train from London it's much easier to get a train to Lewes and change than going to Brighton. Also there are lots of pubs in the vicinity of Lewes station.

Regarding getting home, the trains both ways will be busy after, albeit the Lewes trains slightly less busy. I've been to the Amex quite a few times as a neutral and by leaving 5 minutes early makes it easy but if you stay to the end be prepared to queue.

Sutton Villans were unusually undersubscribed for this trip so it’s worth trying to get in touch with Hatch if you can find your way back from Sutton at 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning.

They tend to do a pub stop on the way back from weeknight games, and they find some interesting watering holes before too.

Thanks for the replies. I have done a complete U-turn and booked a hotel!
I shall drive down and stay over.
I really didn't intend to but I don't have a lot of willpower when it comes to having a few beers!

I have never visited Brighton for football or any other reason. My wife had a good weekend there a few years back on my cousin's hen weekend.

I’ve also booked a hotel, a lot easier than getting back at a stupid time.  Can have a few beers after and come back at my leisure the following day.

Hope the trains to and from the ground are better run this time though.

Yeah, be nice to sell out, think there was about 150 tickets left when I last looked.

There's a whole block that's not been onto for sale yet, so there's another 600 available.

I must have missed that, though come to think of it I did wonder why it looked like they were sold out of order!
