Decent chance for him to make an impression today but had a shocker. Without the ball, he couldn't get remotely close to their midfield and with the ball his limitations were painfully evident. Might be the end of the road for him today with us, we need a far better defensive midfielder for next season.

Thought he was miles better than Luiz. And did McGinn play today?

Luiz had a very good second half I thought. McGinn, poor for sure. Assist aside, nearly every other pass hit a red shirt.

You've got a big heart, Marvelous! Nakamba's Foundation paying school fees for 1,000 underprivileged children in his native Zimbabwe, helping families who are in desperate need. "Every child has a right to an education," says Nakamba. 👏 🇿🇼 #AVFC

He's just a nice guy who's doing good things, it's irrelevant what religion, if any, he is.

He might not see it that way, if he is.

It's always nice to see footballers doing things like this.

I think we look better with Marvellous in the team than Luiz who flatters to deceive (more skilled but less good at the job). Of course Luiz is young and will become a fine player eventually. Would still like an upgrade on both for next season though.

I disagree with the first bit. The difference between them, in my opinion, is that the better the team is playing the better Luiz looks and vice versa for Nakamba. I have nothing againstnakamba but he's the sort of player you need in the team if you're regularly being overrun, when you're controlling the game he offers nothing.

I'd put this rather differently: when Nakamba plays, he seems to free up the midfielders ahead of him, to have a freer / more offensive role. Luiz - whom I like alot - is perhaps less disciplined at covering the defence.
As with other players, I've argued recently that the last 10 games of the season should have been a time for experimenting with personnel and set-ups, but we're not really seeing that; an opportunity missed, maybe.

Luiz hasn't had a great season, though I thought he had a good second half at Liverpool, but the level of his performances last season post restart were at a level Nakamba can only dream of.

Nakamba is certainly a likeable sort but he is a long way short of what we need I think. Luiz is capable of taking the ball from the back (though needs to start doing a lot more of it), Nakamba with his limitations isn't unfortunately.
