Looks like the 2nd XI have been told to get out there and fight for places the way they have come out the blocks. RHM looking particularly good.

Jack, hotlips, Lansbury all look noticeably bigger and fitter. Get the impression the lads have really beasted themselves in preseason.

It’s the new shirts. 😂

Possibly!

RHM has looked very good but needs to be more confident in front of goal (hopefully that will come). There was a definite drop in quality after the changes and Hogan really doesn't offer enough, I can see how he scored a good number of goals in the championship but he's nothing like good enough for where we are now because he's not strong enough, quick enough or tricky enough to give decent defenders any problems.

Pretty impressive display albeit against moderate opposition.  Most of the starters played well; of the replacements, RHM, Bjarnason and Davis did okay.

Very good first half and I thought the second lot who came on did ok bearing in mind they only had 20 minutes.

Yup. It was also encouraging to see how we tried to play. A decent workout.

Kalinic still looks ropey, even though he had nothing to do.  Gilbert and Targett seem very competent and get forward really well,  Tyrone is just imperious, Engels looks confident and reliable.  Hourihane, Lansbury and Green are the weak links and won't be playing anyway.  Wesley, Jack and Jota carried the midfield and were excellent going forwards.  Great workout and if I could ask one thing; anyone who talks to Dean about his thoughts, ask him what the hold up is with the Douglas transfer.  Ask a journalist to ask a question instead of getting their sources through H and V eh?

RB Leipzig I think.

Many thanks Ads, I honestly couldn't think who is was.  I would hope that dean will start with his strongest side.  I hope that includes Douglas.

The only problem with the Luiz transfer is the fucking impatience of some fans.

Such a shame that Green's dribble and shot didn't result in a goal.  Might have done wonders for his confidence.  As it was, RHM came on and really got involved.

Without a doubt pick of the new bunch was Jota.  He and Jack have already got a great understanding. And talking of Jack, just simply a class above everybody else on the park
