Awful for you and your family Mike.  There really isn't much I can add to what has already been said only to add my thoughts for you all at this sad time.

H&V is an oasis of calm sometimes and without doubt a place that holds many hidden friends.  Please be comforted in the knowledge that we're all here for you, both as a collective and, should you ever wish to talk, individually.  Try to stay strong.

Kindest regards.

Lovely post, Dave. Echoes everything I wanted to say, too.

My thoughts are with you and your family, Mike.

My dad's got hours or days to live. This has cheered me up immensely. There are football fan sites and there is Heroes and Villains.
I did the same 3 months ago: watched my old man's last few minutes.
Sobering and thought-provoking, to say the least.
Best to you, mike.

And from me too, Mr E.

Mike, how are things with you? I hope that your lad enjoyed his tour of VP and that you arrived home to whisper a Happy Birthday into your Dad's ear and tell him about your day.

For my part, my troublesome epiglottis has righted itself, I've been discharged and am now back at home. Bath and bed for me. Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts that have nourished and warmed me over the last few worrying days, they have been greatly appreciated.

UTV, H&V.

Much love from Rodders.

Thanks chaps. I shall take this moment to gracefully and gratefully bow out of any further "me" wishes in this thread now I'm on the mend as there are others far more deserving right now. But given that this wee corner of a supporter's fanzine site has become a supporter's mutual support area, let's keep the love flowing to all who are in need of our kind thoughts and experience each and every day.

Mister E, I hope that you're feeling alright today - having things you're background processing brought into the foreground is rarely easy... Are you okay chap?

Mike, hope that your Dad is as comfortable as possible and that you're going to get to spend some time with him today.

All love, Rodders x

Best wishes to you and your family from one mike to another.

I’d just like to echo the sentiment around this site. Through some of the bleakest moments in my life the warmth and humanity of this community has been overwhelming at times. Even the Brexit thread has remained civil and constructive!

If anyone has a spare fiver, please consider chucking it Martin’s way via the big yellow button if you can. This place is priceless.

Would it be possible to get consign this thread to the archives now? I am sick of the sight of their name when I open this forum.

Fuck the Albion. Up the Villa!
