A narrow defeat.  Good to rest the 4 top players for the playoffs.

Whatever happens a big job in the summer on that performance for me.

Ridiculous statement

Absolute class by villa squad and coaches giving guard of honour to Norwich coming out for trophy presentation
And by us supporters. A fair few of us stayed behind to applaud them when they lifted the trophy.

Met a couple of couple of decent Norwich fans in the Witton Arms after the game. They said someone let off flares before the game in there ? Talking about when we won the league, they asked me if I was in my twenties then , I was 13 ! I was a bit precious to say the least !

So many starters out today, thought we did pretty well. Gave the Champions a good game and derserved a draw IMO.

Now it's time to put that bitter little club in its place next Saturday.

Fucking hell, a team containing 4 regulars lose a tight game against the title winners.

No agreed it was a tight game. And the Championship champions I expect to struggle like Cardiff this season.

On that performance with 6 players out you're judging the summer activity on that one match?

Well yes. I think if we’re promoted the 3 in midfield wouldn’t be in a premiership squad or if we’re still in this league aren’t good enough to get us promoted. Whelan a year older, Hourihane just not good enough and Lansbury we’ve not seen enough off.

Similar could be said of the defence and forwards.
It's called the Premier League. Hourihane has been good enough in with Jack and John, how many goals and assists from Conor this season? They way you phrase it sounds like we played shit against a shit team.

I’m not a Hourihane fan to be fair; his goals and assists are good but with all the free kicks we get they should be.

I agree it’s the Premier League and can see Norwich doing about as well as Cardiff next year.

Overall I thought we did ok today but given players coming should be pushing for inclusion in the play off thought we were flat for large parts of the game and lacked a cutting edge.

Don’t mean to sound to downbeat as very much think we’re going in the right direction!
I couldn't stand Hourihane, Whelan or Taylor but I have to give credit where it's due. All 3 might not be the best and there's better out there but all 3 have had key games for us where they have either won us 3 pts or saved us 3 and I think Smith's coaching and set up have improved them from when they first joined us.

100% agree on all 3 of those players.
Which is why I think this summer will be a huge overhaul in the playing squad regardless of what happens in the next 2/3 games.

Considering the players rested I thought we played reasonably well especially in the second half. Thought Lansbury did alright, considering the amount of games he's played this season.

Farewell to the Scottish Cafu, we will never forget that goal!

Same for me. Thought the overall team performance was pretty good and Hutton deserved to lead the team out.

BB awful today. Lansbury good. Green/Adomah not so good. Need AEG back. Good job his red was rescinded. Good to see Hutton on the pitch and he played his usual game but his time at the club is almost up. A remarkable run him considering how average he is.
BB awful? Hard to judge someone when they only came on in the 80th minute.

Pretty happy with that.

Bare in mind who we were missing and how desperate some of our performances were in that new year to Feb period and I thought many of our fringe players played well today against what at this level is a very good team.

Hutton hasn't played since end of Feb (it showed in the first half), Hause has been out for 6 weeks and Lansbury who I thought showed great vision at times has played about 5 times in last year it seems.

What I wanted today was an entertaining game, no injuries and no silly red cards. This time last year Fulham were being turned over by SHA so losing a dead rubber on the last day means nothing.

Interested to see how we use Kodjia in the play offs. Wildcard off the bench is probably what most expect but personally I'd play him in the front three, gives us more scoring options and I thought Green lacks a bit of belief in the final third even though he got into some good positions today.

One thing I was surprised btw was Whelan lasting 90 minutes. Had a good season but he was really flagging last 10 minutes and couldn't keep up when Norwich broke for the late winner.

Would've thought he'd been obvious to take off with 20 minutes left. Don't really see him starting both games given the quick turnaround in the play offs.

Kodjia's boy looked worth keeping tabs on.
