Nice write up Dave.
Amazing isn’t it how things evolve? The fact the Axel returning as an ‘adequate replacement’  for Hause would never have been a thing a few months ago. Axel would have been considered by far the more accomplished choice by most of us.

I can't remember a player ever improving so much, so quickly. We've had plenty who had a bad start and came good in the end but none I can think of who've gone from awful to consistently good within two months.

Good point about Dean Smith's substitutions on Saturday Dave.
We wouldn't have beaten Wednesday if Deano hadn't been brave and not settling for a point.
It makes me think that if we do manage to get to Wembley again this season we will be going for it and not scared to death of the occasion like last season.

“We”d won five in a row, they were unbeaten in twelve since their new manager eventually rolled up”

Shouldn”t that be rolled up their sleeves?

Had Bruce been in charge for this kind of match, 1-1 near the end, you know he would have shut up shop and settled for the point.

I'm afraid Dean Smith just doesn't do that!

Good article Dave and so true about the subs.

Will be interesting to see what changes are made for the game on Wednesday.
