At least you don’t live here :-( I understand they are easy to like from a distance but they’ve been seriously annoying since the joe bryan thing which they saw as payback for the post cup mullering we gave them.

Don't care about Bristol's result tonight. By the time we are done with them at the weekend we'll be 4 points clear if they hang on. And what tonight is also showing is what a useless bunch of wankers the bitters are. We'll do them in the playoffs too

Mind you, I'm quite fond of Blacburn Rovers.

Results are good tonight.

Preston & Forest now out of it, leaving ourselves, Bristol, Derby & Boro chasing 2 spots.

Derby have lost tonight and if we win tomorrow, they will need 7 more points than us from their last 6 games (to our 5).  Boro need 6 more points than us from their last 5 games.

Also if we win tomorrow, we're only 4 points off WBA.

Got Derby finishing on 71 points. We should be well capable of getting that as our GD is miles better than what they have even after their 6-1 win.

Have to say that's outstanding from Bristol City to win back to back aways like that. In fairness they play decent football so as a neutral I'd rather have them in top 6 than a boring team like Boro.

Game at VP will be key to the run in.

yes Bristol gained 4 more points than I anticipated over last 2 games, so my revised end of season has Bristol finishing 5th on 75, boro 6th on 75 (maybe too enthusiastic on current form ), derby 7th on 73 and ourselves 8th on 72

Based on my original predictions from 9 games out (not changing predictions for current form changes), after tonight’s round of games, and sticking with my original win prediction for us tomorrow, from 4th place down I think it’ll end up ;
WBA 78
Bristol city 75
AVFC 74 big goal diff
Boro 74 shit goal diff
Derby 70

A pretty good analysis there.
BUT, it all comes down to us. We just have to do the business tomorrow.

Just looking at fixtures it really is pretty exciting stuff in the championship unknown , especially still to come;

FOREST V Sheff Utd and boro
SHEFF WED will deserve a bloody place if they get points v Leeds, Norwich, Bristol and Preston !!
BRISTOL CITY v some midlands team Saturday, Sheff Wed and derby
DERBY v blues , Bristol ,SWANSEA and wba all away !
WBA should get enough to sneak 4th v Preston, hull and Rotherham all home plus 1 away
AVFC I’m predicting wins v Rotherham, Bolton and millwall, draws v Bristol and Norwich with a defeat at Leeds

Thoughts ?

Seems pessimistic to me. I think we’ll win the next 4 before a draw and a loss in the last 2.

Points for us probably about right but this has been such a crazy season, who knows? I do think if we need to beat Norwich last game then we will.

There is no way Boro get to 74 points. They played an absolutely shit Bolton side and finally managed to win after weeks of utter crap.

A win tomorrow and a draw with Bristol will keep us both away from the chasers but I don’t think boro have got enough so only derby and Wednesday to worry about I reckon

As it stands, Bristol are still an annoying problem and could take 5th place if we don't beat them on Saturday. Obviously they could drop points unexpectedly like they did against Wigan at the weekend, but only a win against them on Saturday will put is in the driving seat as it will send us 4pts clear and negate their game in hand. We just have to remain focused, take care of our own business and keep on winning.

It's effectively a 4 horse race between us, Bristol, Derby and Boro...but yeah, it's only polite to include a few outsiders to keep it interesting. We pretty much killed off Sheff Weds season on Saturday, and both Preston and Forest were done for tonight.

The title of this thread tells you where we were a couple of rounds of games ago. We’ve been bloody lucky with results around us, but the biggest factors is 6 fucking wins on the trot. If we get 2 more we’re in dreamland and a team that can win 8 in a row can beat anyone in the playoffs.
