Fuck the Albion.
We owe them tramps, big time.

We already duffed them out the cup

But were nearly beaten by Wednesday- perhaps not as good as they may think

Even the best teams flirt with defeat from time to time.

Look how many times Ferguson's Man United plucked undeserved winners late on. They did it at least a dozen times to us alone over the years.

Under previous regimes, we'd have settled for a point. But there were no negative substitutions, we kept believing in what we do, and we reaped the rewards. And I don't agree with the implication that Wednesday had us "nearly beaten". For all their huff and puff, we proved better footballers, even on an off day.

Bloody hell, only about 20 seats left in whole ground for Saturday already !

Last 2 sold out in B7 just as I was selecting them to buy.

How the fuck did Weds nearly beat us? They led for the grand total of 15 mins early in the first half and managed 3 shots on target all game. In no universe is that nearly beating us, even if they'd scored the pen there was over half an hour to go. They nearly drew with us would be more accurate.

Steve Bruce said they did, so it must be true.

That really is pretty impressive.

Full house against Blackburn (well, other than their unsold tickets), and another one against Bristol City.

If ever this club got it properly right and dragged itself into the 21st century, we'd be a sight to behold.

BV I take it you are over Bristol City? If so have you managed to secure tickets?

On what planet would Villa vs Bristol city be a sell out normally?
There is something building up here.

And there are only about 4K tickets left for the Millwall game.

For what has seemed an eternity the Villa masses with the odd exception in the past 9 years or so, and even during the highest points of the MON years have for the most past watched utter shit.

Now there is a product on the pitch, a positive manager of the sidelines with club ties and players led now by one born in our own city and system there is genuine belief again. And with the current ownership team and board in place, it could, if done right be very, very good.

The crowds are just sensational and none of the passion manufactured. It’s truly brilliant.

Yep Bristol game is completely sold out now, and looks like Millwall will too at this rate.

No, I won't be over for Bristol City, maybe for Millwall. The tickets were a 'just in case' relating to another matter which i'll explain in a PM. Couldn't get any online and now won't be needed.

From the highlights I saw, they did have some chances that if they had Peter Crouch playing, his outstretched pole leg might have got there. But we soaked up their pressure and kept their better chances to a minimum.

And we took our chances, and scored.

I've no real problems of Bruce's post-match interview, it is what it is.

What I did have a problem with him, was his "tactics" at the play-off final and when we played Ipswich and he couldnt change it to beat 10 men.

All the remaining games could well be important, but I just think the next two are huge.  A bit of a gap is opening up now between us and the teams from Middlesbrough in eighth and down, but it is still tight with Bristol City and Derby.  Win the next two and other results go our way, and we could have a bit of a cushion in the play off positions (particularly as we have a better goal difference than those two).  Without wishing to get too far ahead, I think it is looking a bit more likely that we will play Albion in the play off semi finals.
