The first time I saw us play Man U in person and beating them wasn't the impossible task it proved to be post 1995.
We won 17 out of our 21 home league games that season, but were poor away and only finished 6th. I've not seen the highlights of this game since then.

I would have been at that game stood on the Holte and it would have been just over a week after my twelfth birthday but thanks for posting as had absolutely no recollection of that game. I know the following year on my thirteenth birthday we beat Manchester City 3-0 on a Wednesday night in the League Cup.

My first ever Villa game was at home to United in 1979. We lost 0-3.

Pretty sure I was at this game, I would have been 8.  I definitely remember the programme and is probably in a box still at my Mom's house.
