i never got to experience the old standing holte but i was wondering what everyone’s first thoughts were after going in the holte end for the first time since the rebuild?

I think I am right in saying that for the 1994/95 season it was only what is now the lower holte and that was season ticket holders only.

Or was that just the first half of the 94/95 season?

i really can't remember the first time I sat in the new holte!

Disappointed if I was being honest.  I would and still would have preferred  a one tier stand like the Kop at  Hillsborough.

The new Holte was fully open vs Chelsea just after Christmas in 1994. We won three nil and new signing Ian Taylor scored the third. It had only been the lower tier being used prior to that. I probably first sat in it the following season, the 1-0 Vs Everton is a strong possibility. I honestly can't remember.

My first game on there was a 0-0 v Leeds around New Years Day 1995.  Must have been the 2nd game it properly opened.  Not long after was that ridiculous 4-4 v Leicester when we were 4-1 up when I was also on the Holte.

I think I was sitting in the lower Holte when we went out to Trabzonspor on away goals in 1994.

Had a season ticket in there for the "half" opening and the full opening.   I've got nothing bad to say about the new Holte End, of course it was a shame that the old terrace had to go, but of all the things to criticise Ellis for the new Holte is not one of them, IMO.

My last time on the old Holte was the Holte's last but one stand. We played Arsenal in our penultimate home game of the season. By the time of our last home game against Liverpool I had left the country to work in Tenerife. My first time on the new Holte was when I returned to live in England in 1996. I took my cousin's lad to watch us play Spurs and we drew 1-1 with a late equalizer by Yorke. A load of the old players were brought out onto the pitch before the match to celebrate one hundred years at Villa Park.

My first game on the NH was a rather desperate 2-1 win v. QPR in Jan 1995. It was the game where Bozzie and Teale almost came to blows over who was to take a free-kick. I think ST took it in the end, and Fash the Bash scored the first goal!

Mine was watching Brazil v Sweden in the pre-Euro 96 'Umbro Cup' tournament.

It wasn't that long after my last game on the old Holte v Tranmere but all felt very different. I guess we didn't have access to as much foreign football in those days so seeing Brazil, albeit Brazil reserves, was pretty exciting as a kid.

I think my first time on the one tier new Holte was Man Utd, 1-2 despite being all over them second half. First time on the full new Holte was aforementioned Chelsea game. Very comfortable win, made it look like we'd stay up comfortably.
