Meanwhile, in a custody suite, somewhere in Birmingham, a Police Officer open the hatch to a cell door and tells the prisoner, ‘by the way dickhead, Jack Grealish has just scored the winner for Aston Villa’.  Poetic justice.

This, this, this. A thousand times.

That tosser who hit Jack will probably be guest of honour at their endof  season awards night.

Only if he gets an early release from Winson Green

I’m recently back in touch with my blue nose cousin who has been decent in his analysis of proceedings. I was worried that the incident would effect Jack for the entire game but class shone through, my windows nearly shattered and I’m a fucking happy man.

It’s took the edge off the victory for me. To beat them at the Sty with the winning goal scored by our captain who is a local lad and one of us should be a moment to savour. The attack on Jack is sickening and has no place in football regardless of rivalry.

It’s a sad day for football.

So, they return to the Sty after the commercial break at the end of the game and Minto opens with ‘disgraceful scenes here at St. Andrews’.

How many times over the years have they had to say that about that fucking shithole full of those fucking shithole wankers?

how likely is it that they will face punitive action? Is a points deduction a certainty - or is a fine more likely?. They were disgraced today by a thug believing himself to be a Peaky Blinder.

Bluenose Pete on WM saying that fan hasn't brought shame on the club , started going on about terrorists !! Me neither.

Then belly aching about Hause not being sent off .

They can't spin this one into a moral victory , surely.

He might be unavailable due to being banged up or on a tag and a curfew.

Absolute disgraceful loathsome club...horrible club, horrible team, horrible fans...absolute scum. The EFL and FA need to set a precedent and punish them with more than just a fine. The behaviour of their fans is replicated by their players on the pitch with cynical challenges and even up to the point of rugby tackling off the ball. Completely unacceptable behaviour on and off the pitch. Fuckin disgrace.

Massive respect and credit to the Villa players for keeping their heads under those circumstances. There were a few players that didn't perform (Whelan, Adomah, El Ghazi and Hourihane) but the forces of good overcame evil, and justice was done in the result...justice now needs to be served off the pitch to the evil bastard that assaulted Jack and suitable ramifications on the club.

Hope all the Villa fans get home safely this afternoon.

Agree with all except El-Ghazi. Thought he was great in the second half. Good ball retention and a calm head, exactly what the situation called for. He was indifferent in the first half, would agree.

Games played behind closed doors would be my guess.  Has to be a deterrent, both for clubs and fans.

That was horrendous on a number of levels, but we're back in the race.

What an absolutely classless club that is. All this "one fan shouldn't tarnish the reputation of an entire club" is bollocks, considering the reaction to so many in the ground to the incident.

The EFL warned us about our fans a few weeks ago, so they they’ll be administering a no doubt fair and proportionate punishment.

Its really fortunate for Jack that the bloke is not just a coward but a complete limp wristed wimp, another bloke with some poundage and strength, catching somebody unawares, could have caused untold damage, severe concussion, brian damage, plus, to the side like that, mandibular damage, Jack's a lucky lad really.

Yes. There is a very, very serious side to what could have happened had the rag connected properly or had it been someone bigger. Getting punched from behind when you are not aware usually has terrible consequences.

They've had numerous suspended sentences over the years, no doubt this will be another one.

When the EFL issue a statement that includes the words 'possible sanctions' even before the players and officials have left the stadium it doesn't look good for Small Heath. I wonder how much of a hero that fan will still be to those who applauded him when the punishment is delivered?
